Information
Denver Airport Shuttle

If you rent a vehicle at the airport, I recommend a four wheel drive.  This usually means an SUV and they can be pricey during peak seasons.  The drive to Breckenridge takes about two hours, if the weather is not and issue and traffic is reasonable.  Winter storms can make the drive lengthy and dangerous.  While in Breckenridge, observe speed limits and parking restrictions.  The Breckenridge police department is aggressive, and speed limits are relatively low.  Parking can be a big problem during peak seasons.

You do not have to rent a vehicle, if you are willing to walk to restaurants, and/or take advantage of the free shuttles around Breckenridge. There are several shuttle services between the Denver International Airport and Breckenridge. The one I see most is Colorado Mountain Express. It is probably good to make your reservations in advance.

Ski Rentals
There are too many places to rent skis to count, but if you are after convenience, more than cost, here are our recommendations close by our condo.  While you can walk from the condo to the Quicksilver lift, you may prefer to store your boots and skis near the lift.  Some places will store your boots and skis overnight.  Ask before you rent!  There are boot lockers for rent in The Maggie, so you can store your boots overnight and walk to the lifts in snow shoes.  Ski storage is outside.

Breckenridge Sports in The Maggie and The Village:  The Maggie location is slope side; the Quicksilver lift is right out the door.  They will store skis and boots overnight.
Breeze Ski Rentals
Charter Sports is located in the Marriot Mountain Lodge on Columbine, near our condo.  I don’t know about storage.
Restaurants

Fatty's is located at 106 S. Ridge Rd. (one street over from Main Street).  Just about anyone can tell you how to get there.  We like their pizza and lasagna. This is probably the all around favorite for families.
Giampietro is located near the northeast corner of Main & Lincoln and serves up good Italian pastas.  It is a small place and sometimes crowded.

Relish is located at 137 S. Main Street just across the plaza from the information center and children's area. This is the place to go for a really nice dinner if you want to drop some serious bucks.  Their entrées are somewhere in the $20 - $35 range, but very delicious to eat and to look at (great presentation).  They have some of the best Sangria you have ever tasted and a small but eclectic menu.

Empire Burger is located on the upper level of shops on the east side of Main Street when walking from the condo (520 S. Main Street).  You can park in the back if you drive.  Our son says these are the best burgers in town.  Their loaded cheese fries (with bacon, green onions, cheese and sour cream) are almost a meal.

Daylight Donuts located at 305 N. Main serves up a great and cheap breakfast. It is on the opposite end of town from the condo on Main Street. Their signature breakfast with a couple of eggs, bacon and the biggest pancake you have ever seen is only about $4.50, a real bargain for Breckenridge.  It can be crowded at breakfast time.

The Crown is located at 215 S. Main Street close to Starbucks at 225 Main Street.  We all love just hanging out there in the evenings, playing games with the kids, and eating very yummy deserts.  The décor is interesting and vintage.
